Stainless Steel Bolt

Information of Stainless Steel 304 Bolt

Due to its chemical components, stainless steel 304 is also known as 18-8. The grade 304 stainless steel contains 18 percent chromium and 8% nickel, among other components (18-8). These bolts are also available in the grades 302, 302HQ, 303, and 305. These have distinct characteristics and a well-defined chemical makeup. One of the greatest materials for producing a series of bolts is stainless steel 304. Because of its corrosion resistance properties, each material differs from the next. The stainless steel 304 grade is resistant to a certain environment and chemicals due to a number of variables. Bolts made of steel 304 are non-magnetic and have greater corrosion resistance. The cold-working method hardens the result due to the material quality.

Stainless Steel 304 Bolt Mechanical Properties:

The density (8 g/cm3), melting point (1450 C), and flexibility of stainless steel 304 bolts are all excellent (193 Gpa). Furthermore, the bolts are conductive and electrically resistant. These bolts exhibit thermal expansion at ambient temperature. Bolts made of stainless steel 304 are tensile, proof-stressed, and elongated. It is an austenitic stainless steel that is easy to shape and weld. They also have a high level of corrosion resistance and mechanical strength.

Significance of 304 Stainless Steel Bolts:

The 304 steel grade has a good corrosion resistance. As a result, these bolts are compatible with a wide range of acids and alkalis. The material goes through a cold and hot shaping process and may be used in a variety of environments.

316 Stainless Steel Bolt Information:

Stainless steel grade 316 is not the same as stainless steel grade 304. The difference is in its molybdenum content, which is 3 percent. The addition of molybdenum improves the functioning of stainless-steel fasteners by increasing corrosion resistance and providing various other qualities. Work ability in chloride solution improves strength at high temperatures, and the material grade 316 shows enhanced resistance to pitting.

Stainless Steel 316 Bolt Specifications:

Tensile strength (580 MPa), elongation (50%), elasticity (193 Gpa), Charpy Impact (105J), and Izod Impact are among the product's exceptional mechanical attributes (129J). Stainless Steel 316 bolts include electrical resistance and magnetic permeability in addition to mechanical characteristics.

Essence:

The presence of molybdenum in 316 stainless steel bolts is the primary distinction between 304 and 316 stainless steel bolts. 316 stainless steel grades have more nickel, whereas 304 stainless steel grades contain more chromium. Due to its characteristics, stainless steel 316 bolts are more expensive than 304 bolts. 316 stainless steel bolts are very useful in salty environments.
