Alloy 20 Fasteners

Carpenter 20 and 20CB-3 are other names for Alloy 20 Fasteners, which provide users a mix of nickel, chromium, molybdenum, and copper that offers good all-around corrosion resistance. Bolts made in alloy 20 (2.4660) work well for moderate corrosion applications; they outperform steel alloys but fall short of high performance nickel-based alloys like Hastelloy C276. Alloy 20 is a nickel alloy that works well in many different acids and was created especially to survive the extreme conditions of boiling sulfuric acid. When you require greater protection than 316 stainless steel or even Super Duplex 2507 stainless steel but don't need the corrosion resistant power or expensive price of high performance nickel alloys like Hastelloy C276, alloy 20 bolts are the perfect option. Alloy 20 bolts, often referred to as Carpenter 20 and 20CB-3, give consumers a mix of nickel, chromium, molybdenum, and copper that offers good all-around corrosion resistance. In addition to performing well in general sulfuric acid resistance, alloy 20 bolts also perform well in hot sulfuric acid, especially in boiling sulfuric acid at a defined range of 20% to 40% concentration.. Alloy 20 provides solid acid protection and performs better than Duplex or even Monel, although you might need to look at Inconel or Hastelloy fasteners for high temperature and high concentration acids. Additionally, Alloy 20 bolts exhibit useful resistance to nitric and phosphoric acids.

These austenitic alloys, like Alloy 20 Fasteners, have an iron basis and exhibit good corrosion resistance to a variety of media. They are used in a variety of processes, including flue-gas desulfurization, chemical processing, food processing and storage, and pharmaceutical applications, to mention a few. A nickel-iron-chromium austenitic alloy called Alloy 20, sometimes referred to as Carpenter 20 Fasteners, was created for greatest resistance to acid assault, particularly sulfuric acid. It was created particularly to withstand sulfuric acid and is also known as UNS N08020 Fasteners. Its amounts of copper, molybdenum, nickel, and chromium all offer outstanding general corrosion resistance.
